Sow Mouth (Prognathism)

This image shows the worn incisor's of a 30 year old horse.

As you can see the lower incisors extend beyond the upper incisors causing an underbite. This is known as Prognathism often referred to as Monkey Mouth or Sow Mouth.

Often this will result in abnormal wear patterns within the horses mouth, resulting in poor grazing and loss of condition.

Horses with misaligned teeth will require careful dentistry and management.

Had Glenn to do our mare who I thought may need sedation again . He took lots of time , he was very quiet gentle and patient with her and did a thorough job and explained everything he was doing ...bonus ! Very , very happy
