Mini Shetlands and Miniature Horses

We all love the Mini Shetland and Falabellas with their cute little characters, many make ideal pets and companions to their larger equine friends.

 

Unfortunately there is a downside to being so small. Many Equine Dentists just don't have the tools small enough to treat these small ponies, or can't accommodate them because of their overall size, resulting in some very serious issues.  

This little guy had been seen by a vet who had no tools small enough to accommodate him therefore he was unable to give him a thorough examination.

 

Despite his owners attempts to keep weight on him he continued to loose weight and condition. 

After a thorough examination with the correct sized equipment it came apparent that his dominant lower teeth had worn away the opposing upper teeth preventing the aracades meeting.

One his teeth were successfully treated, he regained weight and condition
